12/13/11 – Defamation Lawsuit Filed Against Syracuse University
Gloria Allred and her two clients Bobby Davis and Mike Lang held a news conference on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in New York to announce the filing of a defamation lawsuit against Basketball Coach James Boeheim and Syracuse University. Allred’s two clients are alleged victims of sexual abuse by Syracuse University Assistant Basketball Coach Bernie Fine (who has recently been fired). Allred, Davis and Lang explained why they felt it was necessary to file a defamation lawsuit against Coach Boeheim and Syracuse University at this time.

12/5/11 – Attorney Gloria Allred and her client Sharon Bialek held a news conference on Monday, December 5, 2011 in Chicago, IL to react to Herman Cain’s suspension of his campaign and to dispel some of the myths circulated by some of Cain’s supporters and the attacks made on Sharon Bialek by Cain. Allred also had a very strong reaction to Cain’s attacks on all women who made claims against Cain, his claims that the allegations made against him were false and his decision to “suspend”, but not terminate his campaign.
11/28/11 – A sex trafficking victim, who is now 18 years old, held a news conference with her attorney, Gloria Allred, to announce the filing of an unusual lawsuit against former NFL Hall of Fame football player, Lawrence Taylor (formerly of the New York Giants) on Monday, November 28th, 2011 in New York. Mr. Taylor had originally been indicted on charges of rape in the third degree, criminal sexual act in the third degree, sexual abuse in the third degree and endangering the welfare of a child. He was convicted of one count of patronizing a prostitute and one count of sexual misconduct. Mr. Taylor’s victim was 16 years old at the time of Mr. Taylor’s crime. Taylor was sentenced on March 22, 2011. Rasheed Davis has pled guilty to one count of sex trafficking for compelling the victim through means of force to provide commercial sex to defendant, Lawrence Taylor. The lawsuit which was announced today, may be the first of its kind ever filed by an underage sex trafficking victim under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act against a man (Taylor) who was seeking sexual services (as opposed to the trafficking pimp).

Gloria Allred and Andrew Johnson, a gay corrections officer, won the right for him to march in uniform at the Christopher Street West Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade in West Hollywood, CA. They held a news conference on June 7, 2011, because the law enforcement officer was being denied the right to march in uniform. After they filed a charge of discrimination, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation reversed its decision and allowed him to march in uniform in the parade. It also issued an apology to him.
