12.01.21 Daily Trojan – Former USC gynecologist George Tyndall appeared in a preliminary hearing Tuesday morning for his criminal case before Judge Larry Paul Fuller at the Clara Foltz Criminal Justice Center. In July 2020, Tyndall pleaded not guilty to all 35 felony charges brought against him by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office comprising 23 counts of unlawful penetration and 112 counts of sexual battery. Attorney Gloria Allred, in a statement to the Daily Trojan, said she is “confident” that George Tyndall will “be punished for his abhorrent behavior and that the women whom he sexually abused will be vindicated.”

11.30.21 ABC News – Troubling allegations surfaced Tuesday against the North Carolina School of the Arts. A new lawsuit claims nearly 40 former high school students were sexually abused or exploited during their time on the Winston-Salem campus. On Sept. 29th, Lanier Law Group along with co-counsel Gloria Allred filed a lawsuit on behalf of seven former students of the school. The law firm said that afterward, its offices were “inundated” with calls and emails from other former School of the Arts students who said they, too, were victims of sexual abuse and exploitation, and from other former students who said they witnessed the “culture of abuse and neglect.” Subsequently, a second, wider lawsuit was filed Monday, listing 39 former students as plaintiffs in the case.

Michelle Lujan Grisham, an ardent supporter of the film industry, has indicated that she’ll await additional facts in the “Rust” investigation before considering any changes to state regulations. The meeting comes just over a month after a real gun with live bullets was mistakenly used and fired in a rehearsal, causing Alec Baldwin to accidentally shoot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who later died, and a director who was injured on the set of “Rust”, a Western filming at the Bonanza Creek Ranch outside Santa Fe.
