Gloria Allred is a distinguished lawyer who handles high-profile discrimination and civil rights cases. Over the course of her career, she has been highly recognized for her work representing clients and has been asked to appear on numerous news and other media programs to comment.

2011-present

  • 09.21.23 – California Women Lawyers (CWL) celebrates their 2023 Fay Stender Award honoree, women’s rights attorney, Gloria Allred, at their annual gala in San Diego. CWL established the Fay Stender Award in 1982 in honor of Fay Stender, a Bay Area attorney who spent much of her professional life fighting for prisoners’ rights. In recognition of its namesake, CWL gives the award to a feminist attorney who, like Fay Stender, is committed to the representation of women, disadvantaged groups and unpopular causes, and whose courage, zest for life and demonstrated ability to effect change as a single individual make her a role model for women attorneys. Ms. Allred was joined by her law partner of 47 years, Nathan Goldberg, who presented her with this prestigious award.
  • 05.19.23 – Ms. Allred was deeply honored to be the graduation speaker at Southwestern Law School’s 108th Commencement ceremony. Attorney Allred also was presented with an honorary law degree from Southwestern Law School. Ms. Allred started her legal education at Southwestern Law School.
  • 04.12.23 – The University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School has named award-winning women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred (Class of ’63) as their commencement speaker for the Class of 2023. Ms. Allred is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she was graduated with honors in English. Attorney Allred has a personal connection to this year’s graduating class as her grandson, Sam Wong L’23, will be graduating. Ms. Allred is deeply appreciative of this great honor.
  • 10.21.22 – Attorney Gloria Allred was the grateful recipient of the LGBTQ+ Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Co-President’s Award at their 42nd Annual Gala. The Co-President’s award is the Association’s highest honor given to an individual who exemplifies and advances the values and goals of the Association, and who has made outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ legal and broader community. Ms. Allred spoke to the group whose lives are dedicated to fighting for justice, with words of inspiration. The gala was themed “Ready to Launch” and was held in the magnificent California Science Center.
  • 03.31.21 – March is Women’s History Month. Attorney Gloria Allred was selected for induction into the Trial Lawyer National Portrait Gallery. This gallery states that its mission is to "document and celebrate the lives of leading figures in the trial lawyer community. Our virtual museum serves as an educational archive that builds the legacy and tells the story of those who strive for justice in the courts, defend the right to trial by jury, and fight for the rights of the most vulnerable."
  • 01.14.21 – Attorney Gloria Allred is honored to be a recipient today of The American Lawyer’s 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award. Other honorees to receive the award this year are Robert Mueller and Ted Wells, among others.
  • 10.23.19 – National Geographic Museum, Washington, D.C. – I attended the National Geographic Museum’s exhibition, WOMEN: A Century of Change, with photographs drawn from their unparalleled image collection and which feature women from around the world. These photographs also appear in their new book entitled Women: The National Geographic Image Collection, which was published on 10.15.19. The exhibition is located in the National Geographic Museum in Washington, D.C. and I am honored to be part of this exhibition and to have been selected to appear in the book.
  • 09.28.19 – Today it was my great honor to receive the Dolores Huerta Adelita Award from California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. at their annual La Tardeada event, “Breaking Barriers”. CRLA fights for justice by serving low-income individuals in rural areas and small cities in California and their specialized programs focus on services for farmworker populations, as well as people with disabilities, immigrant populations, school children, lesbian/gay/bisexual and transgender populations, seniors and individuals with limited English proficiency.
  • 09.14.19 – Today, women’s rights attorney, Gloria Allred, was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, New York. Ms. Allred was inducted with other 2019 inductees which included United States Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Jane Fonda, Diane von Furstenberg and Dr. Angela Davis, among others. The National Women’s Hall of Fame is located in Seneca Falls, New York, where the women’s movement was founded in 1848. It was there that women first organized to demand suffrage, the right to vote for women, and the addition of the 19th amendment to the United States Constitution which mandated that women have the right to vote. Previous inductees into the National Women’s Hall of Fame have included United States Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Susan B. Anthony, Nancy Pelosi, Coretta Scott King and many other women leaders and role models.
  • 07.06.18 – Gloria was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the National Organization for Women (NOW) for her enduring commitment to fighting injustices against women.
  • 02.15.18 – Ms. Allred received the Lenore Kramer Award for Excellence from the Women’s Caucus of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
  • 10.04.16 – Gloria Allred was nominated and accepted as one of 2016 AIOLC’s 10 Best Labor & Employment Attorneys in New York For Client Satisfaction
  • 09.30.16 – Gloria Allred was honored at the 2016 International Women’s Forum (IWF) World Leadership Conference with the 2016 IWF Women Who Make a Difference Award. The IWF connects the world’s most dynamic women at the highest levels of professional achievement to unite, ignite, empower, and inspire the advancement of global leadership through training, mentoring, friendship, and connectivity. IWF’s unprecedented membership spans careers, cultures, and continents with more than 6,400 women leaders in 34 countries across six continents.
  • 01.22.15 – Gloria Allred, longtime LGBT ally and famed civil rights attorney, was presented with the LGBT community’s In The News inaugural “Elgy Award” for her decades-long commitment to high-impact work and ongoing efforts to secure equality for all, including the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. The theme of the celebration, which was held in Hollywood at the LA Press Club, was “LGBT Allies: We Couldn’t Do It Without You!”
  • 09.20.14 – Loyola Law School named Gloria Allred as one of their 50 Inspirational Alumni. With over 16,000 alumni, these 50 were honored for the way in which they have stood for the highest standards of personal integrity, legal accomplishments, courage, professional ethics, and passion for justice. The 50th anniversary celebration of the law school was held on Sept. 20, 2014, on Loyola’s Albany campus in Los Angeles and she was honored there.
  • 09.12.14 – The Face Forward Foundation honored attorney Gloria Allred at its “Venetian Masquerade” gala. Ms. Allred received the “Voice Award” for legal support of victims of domestic violence.
  • Gloria Allred was selected for inclusion in the Southern California Super Lawyers list by Law & Politics and Los Angeles Magazine for the past 13 years, from 2004-2017.

04.15.25 The Independent UK– “Harvey Weinstein: The #MeToo movement’s most notorious villain heads back to court for retrial.” Attorney Gloria Allred disagrees with claims that the #MeToo movement is fading. “The lie that the #MeToo movement is dying or dead can only be understood as a manipulation of women's psyches as a mind game to deter women from asserting their rights for fear that it's hopeless or that they will be attacked,” Ms. Allred told The Independent. She reminded us that, “No one has ever given women any rights at all. We've always had to fight to win them — and we need them to have courage now more than ever.” Ms. Allred has represented multiple women in their cases against Mr. Weinstein, including client Mimi Haley, who will testify in Mr. Weinstein’s retrial.

04.15.25 CNN – “His conviction was hailed as a #MeToo victory. After winning his appeal, Harvey Weinstein is back on trial.” The case that catalyzed the #MeToo movement is now back in the spotlight, one year after Mr. Weinstein’s conviction was overturned when the New York Court of Appeals ruled that testimony against him from women for whom charges were not filed led to an unfair trial. “It’s painful, to go through the process again about a traumatic event,” attorney Gloria Allred, who is representing Mimi Haley, one of three women who will testify in Weinstein’s retrial, told CNN. “I commend her,” Ms. Allred said of her client. “It does take a tremendous amount of courage.”

03.26.25 The U.S. Sun – “First look at Alec Baldwin’s Rust after Halyna Hutchins was shot on set & her heartbroken mother refused to support movie.” The film Rust is now being set for release in May, 2025. It was on the set of Rust that cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, was fatally shot when a prop gun used by Alec Baldwin contained a live round. Attorney Gloria Allred, representing the parents and sister of Halyna Hutchins, indicated that Halyna’s mother refused to attend the festival premiere of the film in November. Ms. Allred also stated, “The decision not to even call the family to say he is sorry is cruel and dishonors Halyna and her memory.”

03.12.25 People – “Where is Halyna Hutchins’ Family Now? Inside Her Parents, Sister, Husband and Son’s Lives After the Fatal Rust Shooting.” On Oct. 21, 2021, producer and actor Alec Baldwin discharged a prop gun containing a live round while filming Rust at Bonanza Creek Ranch in New Mexico. Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was tragically shot on set, and taken to the hospital by helicopter but died from her wounds. The article discusses the heartbreaking loss of Halyna by her parents, sister, husband and son. Attorney Gloria Allred represents Halyna’s mother, father and sister in a civil lawsuit against Mr. Baldwin and the production, and stated, “It is long overdue for Alec Baldwin to admit and face the real-life consequences that he caused Halyna’s parents and sister. It is time for him to face reality under oath.”

03.06.25 Fox News – “Alec Baldwin’s ‘shameless’ reality show, attempt to rebrand bombs: experts.” A statement from attorney Gloria Allred says, “Alec Baldwin has compounded the pain of Halyna’s parents and sister by taking advantage of his increased fame and notoriety by monetizing it in a TLC reality show, where he takes on the role of victim after he shot and killed Halyna Hutchins on the set of ‘Rust.’”

They argue that by releasing the reality show, Mr. Baldwin is painting himself as a victim while failing to take responsibility for Halyna’s death.

03.05.25 New York Post – “Halyna Hutchins’ family slams Alec Baldwin’s ‘shameless’ TLC show, demands he testify in wrongful death lawsuit.” Attorney Gloria Allred and the parents and sister of Halyna Hutchins state, “It is long overdue for Alec Baldwin to admit and face the real-life consequences that he caused Halyna’s parents and sister. It is time for him to face reality under oath.”

03.05.25 The Today Show – “Halyna Hutchins’ Family Reacts to Alec Baldwin’s Reality Show.” The attorneys representing the parents and sister of Halyna Hutchins, Gloria Allred, John Carpenter, Carlos Hernandez and Alina Vulic, said in a statement to NBC News that the deposition was scheduled for the Friday before Mother’s Day “because Halyna’s mother needs to hear Mr. Baldwin’s explanation under oath about what led to the death of her daughter.”

03.05.25 New York Daily News – “Halyna Hutchins’ family hits out at Alec Baldwin’s new reality show.” Attorney Gloria Allred questioned Mr. Baldwin’s new reality TV show in her statement, “Why is he claiming that he has PTSD? Is his reality show just a veiled attempt to create sympathy for himself with a future jury pool in our civil case? Is this just a shameless attempt to portray him as the real victim in this case?”

03.04.25 Daily Mail UK – “Alec Baldwin Slammed by Halyna Hutchins’ family as they make shock legal move amid his reality show.” Ms. Allred said that Mr. Baldwin’s new reality show, “The Baldwins” – showing him and wife Hilaria, 41, raising their seven young children – provides a sad juxtaposition in the wake of the fatal on-set shooting in New Mexico more than three years ago.

03.04.25 People – “Halyna Hutchins’ Family Demands Alec Baldwin Testify in Wrongful Death Lawsuit, Calls his TLC Show ‘Shameless.’”​Attorney Gloria Allred, representing the parents and sister of late cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, has filed a notice of deposition requiring Alec Baldwin to testify on May 9, 2025 in their civil lawsuit. Halyna’s parents and sister criticized Mr. Baldwin’s new TLC reality series, “The Baldwins,” labeling it a “shameless” attempt to garner sympathy ahead of the trial. They also highlight that Mr. Baldwin has neither apologized nor accepted responsibility for Hutchins’ death.

03.04.25 Los Angeles Times – “Alec Baldwin should testify in ‘Rust’ wrongful death suit, Gloria Allred says.” Attorney Gloria Allred, representing Halyna Hutchins’ parents and sister, has demanded that Mr. Baldwin testify on May 9, 2025 in their civil lawsuit. The parents and sister of Halyna Hutchins criticize Mr. Baldwin for his lack of apology and question whether his TLC reality show is an attempt to gain sympathy before the trial.
